The Assistance for the Care of Offspring or Dependents and Elders Rescue (ACODER) was formally launched in fitting ceremonies held on April 27, 2023 at the Sorsogon Provincial Gymnasium.  ACODER is the 12th component of the City Administration’s Ten Plus One Agenda, effectively rebranding it into the Ten Plus One Plus One Agenda.

Governor Edwin “Boboy” Hamor and City Mayor Ma. Ester E. Hamor led the roster of attendees during the grand launching.  Also present were Vice-Mayor Mark Eric C. Dioneda and the members of the 8th City Council, heads of the various offices of the Provincial Government and the City Government of Sorsogon, barangay captains and beneficiaries of the program.

ACODER provides financial assistance to solo parents and neglected elders, among others.  The program was made possible through an ordinance authored by City Councilor Ma. Theresa H. Gonzalez.

In her message, the mayor stated that no one will be left behind and that her initiatives will be felt across all sectors. She further said that the local government will unveil many such other programs under her leadership that will help improve the lives of ciudadanos.

Governor Hamor, for his part, congratulated the constituents of Sorsogon City.  “May Ciudad kayong nagmamalasakit,” he declared, adding that the city officials are always ensuring that government services meet the needs of the people.

ACODER is a spinoff of GROUPIE, and is the second agenda to be managed by the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
