In an inspiring display of collaboration, Sorsogon City Mayor Ester Hamor’s 10+1+1 Agenda and the Provincial Governor’s 7K Program, led by Governor Edwin “Boboy” Hamor, joined forces to bring vital services to the people of Sorsogon. These priority programs worked together to ensure that government assistance reaches even the most remote areas, delivering essential support directly to the constituents of Sorsogon City.
Despite challenging weather conditions and difficult terrain, the City and Provincial government teams remained resolute in their mission, ensuring that their scheduled activities in Barangay Sto. Niño and Osiao Bacon would not be delayed. The day’s event featured a series of impactful initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for residents, including a Tree Planting and Distribution Activity (Gayon Sorsogon), cash payouts for the elderly and persons with disabilities (PWDs) through the GROUPIE program, financial assistance for single parents (ACODER), and the distribution of vegetable seedlings under the Tanging Yaman program. These services, among others, are part of ongoing efforts to empower and uplift local communities.
To ensure the farthest barangays were reached, the City Mayor’s team – which included heads of various City Government offices and members of the 8th City Council, led by Vice Mayor Eric Dioneda – began their journey at 4 a.m., navigating the EDC-Manito Road to access even the most remote locations. This united effort highlights the unwavering commitment of both the City and Provincial leadership to improve the lives of every Sorsogon resident, leaving no sector behind. The joint initiatives of Mayor Hamor and Governor Hamor stand as a testament to their shared vision for a progressive and inclusive Sorsogon, where the government actively listens to and supports the needs of its people.
