Guidelines and Mechanics

SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES

Teams must submit a duly accomplished Team Entry Form and Individual Entry Form to the Sulay sa Futuro Sorsogon City Arnis Club Secretariat and Organizing Committee. 

Team and Individual Entry Forms shall be provided by the Sulay sa Futuro Sorsogon City Arnis Club Secretariat and Organizing Committee 

All Entry Forms and fees must be submitted on or before the designated deadline. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Open to all interested athletes.

Athletes must meet the specified requirements for the events for the competition such as age and weight. Athletes turning 7-17 years old this year or by December 31, 2024 are eligible to join. 

Each Athlete is allowed to enter a maximum of 2 individual events.

Athletes must submit and present all required supporting documents such as PSA Certificate, Medical Certificate, ID’s, and others (if required).

EVENTS

COMPETITION PROCEDURES/ RULES AND REGULATIONS 

COMPETITION RULES 

The 2024 SORSOGON CITY ARNIS ENCOUNTER shall follow the Rules and Guidelines set forth by the Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation’s Consolidated Rules for Arnis Competitions in compliance with and approval of World Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation, the International Federation (IF) for Arnis. 

FORMAT OF COMPETITION 

FULL CONTACT COMPETITION

Blind Matching and Pairing using Single Elimination shall be used in this Contact Competition Padded Stick event. 

DISQUALIFICATION RULES 

The following violations if committed shall result in a player / team disqualification. 

Submission of fraudulent and / or falsified documents. 

Causing a dangerous intentional foul which inflicts injury on the 

opponent. 

Unsportsmanlike conduct / behavior which breaks the spirit of 

the sport. 

Other violations as presented in the pre-tournament meetings

and demo.

ATTIRE AND UNIFORM 

Shall mean all those that form the player’s outfit worn in the competition / playing area during the competition. 

Competitors are allowed to use their official team uniform. They may also wear white upper shirts and red pants during the competition.

Competitors are required to wear rubber shoes during their match. 

COACHES – should be in their delegation uniform or non-identical uniform to competitors during the competitions.

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT 

Protective Equipment shall ensure the safety of the participants in this Full Contact Competition. The use of safety equipment is mandatory. All safety equipment should PASS SULAY SA FUTURO ARNIS STANDARDS and ACCREDITATION. 

Protective Equipment which includes Head Gear, Body Vest, Body Protector, Arm Guard, Leg Guard, Groin Guard/Cap, Hand Gloves, and weapons shall be color coded, one red and the other one blue. 

All protective equipment including weapons for this Full Contact Competition shall be provided by the participants and will be inspected and approved by the Tournament Management.

WEAPON

In this Padded Stick Event, the stick is made of rattan wrapped with foam shall be the official weapon at the competition, provided by the competitors and it shall be inspected and approved by the Tournament Management.

AWARDS

Winning competitors shall be awarded with the following medals with certificate: 

1st Placer – Gold

2nd Placer – Silver

3rd Placer – Bronze 

All participants will receive certificate of participation in the said event.

TECHNICAL OFFICIALS

Technical Officiating Officials for the competition must be accredited and approved by SULAY SA FUTURO SORSOGON CITY ARNIS CLUB.

PROTESTS AND COMPLAINTS

A protest shall be done immediately after the match and before the next competition begins. Protest after the match/bout shall be made in writing within thirty (30) minutes by the coach, duly signed by the athletic manager, coach or authorized representative of the delegation/team, and addressed to the Technical Committee.

OTHER MATTERS

All other matters will necessary in the success of this event will be provided and decided by the Technical Committee of SULAY SA FUTURO SORSOGON CITY ARNIS CLUB.

The Technical Committee shall provide the ground rules before the start of the event.
