KALUSUGAN MO, SAGOT KO! With a focus of addressing the growing healthcare needs of Sorsogon City’s residents, City Mayor Ester E. Hamor launched a series of strategic measures aimed at enhancing health services across the city. These efforts ensure that every Sorsoganon has access to quality healthcare and vital medical supplies.
KEY FEATURES
Increased Allocation for Medical Supplies: The City Government will allocate substantial funds to procure essential medicines for the Rural Health Centers (RHCs) throughout the city. These medications will be made readily available for all residents, ensuring that no one is left without access to necessary treatments. The initiative aims to improve healthcare accessibility and affordability for every Sorsoganon. Guaranteed Access to Prescribed Medicine: To further enhance healthcare delivery, all prescriptions issued by attending physicians at the City Health Office will be immediately filled with the corresponding medicines for patients. This ensures that prescriptions are fully supported by the City Government, removing barriers to effective treatment and promoting better health outcomes. Hiring of Health Navivators and Additional Health Workers: In a bid to strengthen disease prevention and control, Mayor Hamor has hired additional health workers, known as health navigators. These professionals will lead information and education campaigns to raise awareness on disease prevention, helping to inform and empower the public about health issues and best practices for wellness. Personalized Health Services for the Vulnerable Group. The City Government has also taken crucial steps to ensure that vulnerable populations, including persons with disabilities, the elderly, and bed-ridden individuals, receive dedicated care. Additional doctors have been hired to personally visit these residents in their barangays, addressing their specific health concerns and ensuring they receive the attention they need.
Establishment of Hospital to Meet the Growing Health Needs: As part of her long-term vision for Sorsogon City, Mayor Hamor is committed to building two new hospitals—one in the city center and another in Bacon District. These hospitals will cater to the rising demand for medical and health services, providing much-needed care to the city’s growing population. The new hospitals will help ensure that medical services are accessible to all, reducing the strain on existing facilities and improving healthcare coverage in both urban and rural areas.
Under the leadership of City Mayor Ester E. Hamor, these health service improvements aim to create a more resilient and healthier Sorsogon. By ensuring access to affordable medicines, personalized care for vulnerable groups, and the establishment of new healthcare infrastructure, the City Government is taking decisive steps to address both immediate and long-term healthcare challenges. The new measures will benefit not only those in need of immediate medical attention but also contribute to overall community well-being, strengthening Sorsogon’s health system for years to come.
