The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), led by Councilor Ma. Theresa “Thess” Gonzales, Councilor Jo Abegail “Bhem” Dioneda, and Uricar D. Diaz, CGADH-I and Officer-in-Charge of the CSWDO, successfully conducted the Parent Effectiveness Services (PES) Training and the Second Quarterly Meeting of Solo Parent Presidents on July 8, 2026, at the CDRRMO Function Hall. The event was attended by the presidents of the Solo Parent Federation from the East, West, and Bacon Districts of Sorsogon City.
The program featured informative sessions on Child Development, Positive Discipline, Single Parenting and Today’s Family, and an Orientation on the EU-IEC Circular Economy. Cash subsidies were also distributed to qualified solo parents as part of the Sorsogon City Government’s continuing commitment to providing support and assistance to the solo parent sector.
This initiative reflects the City’s ongoing efforts to strengthen programs that promote the welfare and well-being of solo parents and their families. Through activities such as these, participants gain valuable knowledge, foster stronger collaboration within the Solo Parent Federation, and benefit from more accessible social welfare services in their communities.
