The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) successfully conducted the 2nd Quarter Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities (ERPAT) Presidents Assembly cum Father’s Day Celebration on July 10, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the CDRRMO Function Hall.
The event gathered ERPAT Presidents from the West, East, and Bacon Districts, together with Councilor Ma. Theresa “Thess” Hamor Gonzalez, Councilor Nestor J. Baldon, and CSWDO Head Uricar D. Diaz. The assembly aimed to strengthen the ERPAT organization while recognizing the vital role of fathers in building strong families and communities.
The program featured informative sessions on EU Circular Economy Advocacy and Learning, Leading by Example, and The Modern Father’s Roles in Mental Health and Family Violence Prevention. A Father’s Day celebration was also held, during which each ERPAT President received a token of appreciation in recognition of their dedication and service.
In her message, Councilor Gonzalez emphasized the importance of fathers’ mental health and highlighted their role as the foundation of every family. Meanwhile, Councilor Baldon, author of the city’s ERPAT Ordinance, shared ongoing and future initiatives aimed at further strengthening the ERPAT organization in Sorsogon City.
According to the CSWDO, the activity forms part of the city’s continuing efforts to empower fathers as responsible parents, promote violence-free homes, and foster stronger family and community relationships. The office also reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining programs that encourage greater participation of fathers in the development initiatives of the City Government of Sorsogon.
