100% in the 2026 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit: Sorsogon City Leads the Bicol Region

Members of the Social Protection Cluster, together with representatives from the DILG, DSWD, CSWDO, CHO, DepEd, PNP, the SK Federation, and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, convened for the Social Protection Cluster Meeting held on July 1, 2026, at Melad Hotel. During the meeting, it was officially announced that Sorsogon City achieved a perfect score of 80 out of 80 points (100%) in the 2026 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA)—the highest rating among all local government units in Region V.

Under the leadership of Mayor Ester E. Hamor, Sorsogon City was endorsed by the Regional Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (RIMTF) to the national level as the 2026 CFLGA Regional Passer. The city is the only local government unit in Region V to earn a perfect score, reflecting its outstanding implementation of programs and initiatives that promote the welfare, protection, and rights of children.

According to the Local Government Unit of Sorsogon City, this recognition is the result of strong leadership, effective inter-agency coordination, and the collective commitment of various sectors to deliver quality, inclusive, and child-friendly programs and services for every young Sorsoganon.

The city’s perfect rating further strengthens its commitment to maintaining excellence in local governance while continuously providing programs and services that uphold the rights, safety, and well-being of children. Following this achievement, Sorsogon City will advance to the national evaluation for the final recognition in the 2026 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit.
