To develop new competitive badminton athletes and enhance the skills of the existing players. To provide a continuous training for the said players.

Initially at least 20 student athletes each district (10 elementary, 10 secondary) representing the East District, West District and Bacon District of Sorsogon City. Additional beneficiaries may be taken in in case the initial numbers of beneficiaries

  • Semi-annual badminton tournament will be held. One during the second quarter and another on the fourth quarter.
  • Bi-monthly Inter-School matches/training, except on school vacation wherein training/matches are weekly.
  • Elementary Singles (Boys and Girls)
  • Elementary Doubles (Boys, Girls and Mixed)
  • Secondary Singles (Boys and Girls)
  • Secondary Doubles (Boys, Girls and Mixed)
  • The training/tournament shall be open to all elementary and secondary student–athletes of Sorsogon City.
  • For all the events the following documents must be presented upon registration. To wit:
  1. Proof of age (Elementary born after January 1, 2010 and Secondary born after January 1, 2010) PSA Birth Certificate and Learners Reference Number.
  2. Medical Certificate (indicating that he/she is physically fit to engage in sports)
  3. Parents Permit with Waiver
  1. Registration shall be communicated to the Sorsogon City Administrator’s Office. The abovementioned documents must be complete and presented upon registration otherwise said registration will not be given due course.
  2. Registration is on a “first-come First-served basis”. However, all interested both enthusiast and athletes are welcome to join the initial trails where qualifiers will be choosen. The said qualifiers will be the trainees in the year round training.
  3. Due to the limited slots per district. Only twenty (20) qualifiers will be allotted per district. An additional five (5) slots will be given to wait listed applicants.
  4. If there are available/untaken slots from a particular district, the same can be filled up with applicants from the other districts.
  5. Pre-registration is required to ensure a slot. Walk-ins will only be entertained if there are still remaining vacant slots.
  6. Registration is free of charge. No fees of whatsoever will be charged.
  1. The initial trainees’ (qualifiers’) performance and attendance will be monitored and assessed. An accumulated four (4) absences will be a ground for the dropping of the said trainee from the year round training.
  2. Their performance will be assessed on a per training basis and will be measured by a bi-monthly or weekly matches as the case may be. An accumulated four (4) losses will be a ground for the dropping of the said trainee from the year round training.
  3. In the advent that a ground for dropping of a trainee arise. The officials and trainers will deliberate on the matters as to whether or not to drop of the said trainee. Their collective decision will be final and executory.
  4. Should a dropped trainee wishes to join again, he/she will be listed under the waiting list and shall be accommodated only if a vacancy happen.
  5. The top performing trainees will be determined from the winners in the semi-annual tournament, they will receive incentives depending upon their standing/ranking.
  6. No trainees including the top performers are guaranteed a ranking. Their ranking will depend upon the result of their performances.
  7. Other matters not covered by these rules and regulations will be dealt with as they arise.
